Before I start building or adapting a machine, I turn to Practical Farm Ideas. I don't know how many times I have flicked though my copies!

Print Version SOLD OUT

'The Art of Winching' is one of the most important articles in this issue, as there are few farmers who don't find themselves pulling loaded trailers. The article features a contractor who specialises in pulling kit that's really stuck, and doing it without damaging anything. It's all a question of where you attach the cable, and the angle of pull. There's a brilliant front mounted press and cultivator that was made for a 200hp Case magnum 7130; a pick up hitch with far better geometry than the rest; a neat workshop crane that lifts 1.5t and is powered by a 12v battery; some Claas 116CS combine tips - and this may be the first time cattle breeders had heard of using navel clamps on calves to prevent disease. Although sold out we can supply it as a pdf file on a disc.
